VOLUNTEER HERE

GVGSA Umpire Training is February 24th!

GVGSA players and parents can fulfill their family’s volunteer requirements by completing five games at 8U and up. We provide gear and training.

Alternatively, youth umpires can umpire 8U games for $10/game, and experienced youth umpires who have reached high school and adults can umpire 10U and 12U games for $25/game.

If anyone in your household is interested, please let me know. If you have questions or know someone else who might want to umpire, please direct them to me. Umpire training is Sunday, February 24th, tentatively at 10AM, Dos Pueblos Fields (and a classroom). See below for details. I will have more information later.

Training Sunday February 24th at 10AM, DP fields; if you can't make it but still want to umpire let me know.

Cost: $45 ($30 for youth umpires under 18) (cash or check)*GVGSA will reimburse your cost as a bonus on completion of 5 GVGSA games* (umpires wishing to do all-star tournaments may pay for UR registration as well, which is $25 more).

*Youth umpires under 18 must have a parent/guardian sign a waiver at the training (but do not need to remain there).*

Bring a snack and water (training takes about 3 hours) and gear if you have it (if not, don't worry, I can provide what you need). Adult umpires also will need a valid ID.

(Anyone is welcome attend this training, by the way — so if you know someone like that, let them know.)
